Together we will choose the style of yoga: Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin or Restorative, the level of intensity, the amount of core work and/or therapeutic exercise. We will carefully select specific poses and sequences according to your preferences and needs. We will discuss alignment as it applies specifically to you, benefits of each pose or sequence and recommendations for home practice.
Private Mat Pilates sessions are designed with you in mind. If your main goal is to strengthen your core, improve body awareness, coordination and flexibility, Pilates is for you. It is widely and effectively used as part of post rehabilitation regimen. Most of Pilates exercises are deliberate and slow. Because most of them are done on the mat, there is minimal risk of injury associated with weight bearing. This is especially important when working with spine, hip, knee and ankle injuries or issues. Pilates is an intelligent way to transition from injury rehabilitation to functional training.
